Description:  Northern Sky Charters' Dome Lounge "Northern Sky" will be our ride back to Kansas City on the AAPRCO Excursion. This car was built as UP 9003 in February 1955. It went to Auto Train in 1973 as AUT 903. After they went out of business, it passed to private ownership in 1981, Northern Railcar Corporation in 1988, and current owner David Hoffman, our car host today, in 1992. I would like to thank Dave for the hospitality, lunch, and the ride, and I would like to thank Tom Soumas for setting it up for us.

Description:  This was the 3rd of the original 3 UP Locomotives to wear the flag, UP 4526-4528. They got the flag decals in November 2001, and are the only ones to wear this particular flag. Subsequent locomotives to receive the flag decal feature a slightly different pose Old Glory struck. The engine was being hostled at UP Armourdale Yard.
