About 1.2 miles away from us we were able to nab this shot of SP 4449 and train slamming the WSOR Diamond. |

Eastbound SP 4449 and the Cross-Country Daylight Train |
Description: |
Headed across the Wisconsin River Bridge near the confluence with the Mississippi River is the Eastbound SP 4449 Cross-Country Daylight Train in a scene from Wyalusing State Park that somewhat resembles the Pacific Northwest Region that is the engine's home. This is the first time I'd ever seen the Daylight GS-4 4-8-4, and I never imagined I'd be able to see it in the Midwest. Thanks to all the groups who made it happen. It was a fun chase. |

Eastbound SP 4449 and the Cross-Country Daylight Train |
Description: |
Here the train is seen leaving Savanna after a service stop on the BNSF Aurora Sub. I wish we'd been able to see this thing roll by a couple more times, but even driving 14 hours to see it twice was well worth it. |
