Sitting at the top of John Deere Hill at MP 530 on the MNA Nevada sub. is MNA Train GSJDKN 08 with 4 engines on the point and 75 loads and 2 misrouted empties. We held up here waiting for the Carthage Day Switcher to clear up before we proceeded on down within Yard Limits. |

The Tunnel |
| Description: |
Finally got to run through a tunnel on the MNA last night on a Tyson Bergman, AR Grain Train. We dropped off 15 cars at Aurora, MO. Reeds Spring Tunnel is a 2,756 foot bore at 1175 feet above sea level on the south end seen here. This is a 1.0% downgrade here at MP 459.5 on the MNA Aurora Sub, the former MP Carthage Sub. The tunnel was constructed in 1904 along with this portion of the line. We were relieved a few miles down the track at Gretna, MO, just north of Branson by a split Cotter/Batesville crew at MP 451.25. |

Easing around the 20 MPH curve at Atchison is UP Train CWXNA 17 on the UP Falls City Sub. The festive St. Patrick's Day green color on the ground is from the weed spraying truck that was working this area over earlier. |
