Description:  Aboard UP 3916 leading UP Train IHOYC 07 at 4:21 A.M at MP 37 on the UP Villa Grove Sub. at Beecher, IL, where we sat stopped on Main Track 2 for 3 hours and 21 minutes. The other units were UP 5043, and UP 8666. We died at Yard Center before we got it to the ramp.

Description:  Heading south down the UP Coffeyville Sub. at 159th Street in Overland Park is UP Train AAMKB 09, which usually runs down the BNSF Ft. Scott Sub. between KC and Paola. Hard to believe this pastoral, rural looking scene is in the city limits of OP.

UP Train Pass
Title:  UP Train Pass
Description:  No day on the railroad ever goes as planned. Case in point: UP Train IDULB 19 on the left on Main Track 1 is stopped due to a train near West Yard seeing a smoking wheel.

Upon inspection, it was determined that one brake of the Neff Yard pickup wasn't released by the inbound crew, and was dragged across Kansas City for 10 miles before the train moved quick enough to get it smoking.

While the conductor and a couple managers check things out before bringing the trainman back to the engines, UP Train MDMWT 19 sneaks past on Main Track 2. Above the trains are the eastbound control signals at CP Z008 on what has to be the crookedest signal bridge I've ever seen.

Title:  Southbound UP Manifest Train
Description:  Rolling towards UP Neff Yard on the KC Metro Sub. along the Missouri River is UP Train MATKC 17 with the first of the original UP order for 1,000 SD70Ms. Kind of ironic that the wing decals applied to this unit bringing the logo back to the UP after a 30 year hiatus were applied 10 years ago today on my 10th birthday. Today was my 20th. I never thought it would take 10 years to see this engine on the point.
