Detoured by flooding in Kansas, this Bonner Springs, KS Rock Train was operating through here as UP Train RNLBS 29 with 4 SD40 type engines on the head end. Back in those days I had no clue where Bonner Springs was. Now I shoot there all the time. |

Rolling down the UP Jonesboro Sub. is UP Train AINAR 07 with an Ex-CR, Nee-PRR 6052 SD40, built in 2-66 leading. This was the scene of an accident last Sunday on 9-30-07, Stoddard County Highway D at MP 45.65 on the UP Jonesboro Sub. when UP Train KMNOA 30 with UP 4105 leading struck a tractor trailer loaded with cotton. The truck exploded and set the spilled diesel and cotton on fire, along with a mile or so of the ROW. The cotton was still smoldering a week later in a couple spots. |
