Title:  Eastbound NS Merchandise Train
Description:  The first train Pat Scott and I caught today was NS Train 111 passing NS Train 115 in the siding north of the airport. It was nice to catch a Primer "Albino Catfish" Dash-9 before they are all painted. The first car was a Hi-Wide Load, a McDonnell Douglas Corporation well car for carrying airplane and aviation parts. Pat picked me up this morning from The Double Tree Inn at Westport at 8:30 A.M. for a day of railfanning in St. Louis, we finished around 2:30 P.M.

Description:  Here's the Unpatched DRGW SD50 in the back of the consist. I was watching a show on RFD-TV abouq the Royal Gorge Route a few minutes earlier and DRGW 5503 rolled by on that show, I saw 5503 in 2002. I walked outside 2 minutes later and saw this one. Needless to say, we chased it to Dexter.

He told me KCS might be planning on scrapping and parting these out, or reselling some. Included in the line of engines is KCS 3240, a white ghost SD40-2, and KCS 3200, ex-KCS 637, which was the 1st SD40-2 ever built.

Description:  UP Train KMNOA 17 headed north at County Line Road. This was the last train I shot with my 5.0 MP Hewlett-Packard Photsmart 945. It experienced an internal software error before this train passed. I purchased a new camera of equal value off ebay, a Kodak Z740. My last camera was a Kodak CX6230. It took over 15,000 images over 16 months. The HP lasted 5 months and took around 1,000 for me. Looks like I will be using my old Kodak until my new one arrives.

Description:  The Conrail led eastbound met this westbound manifest about a mile east of here. I got a call from the cops the next day because some stupid bitch drove by and thought I was a terrorist and called the police. Turns out they were supposed to let Homeland Security handle it but the local police department figured it was a non-issue after they ran our plates.
