We went by the Sperry Shops after supper at Cracker Barrel. This is an Induction-Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Detector Car. They were rebuilt from 1920-1940s vintage gas electric cars called "doodlebugs". This is ex-CNW 300882 and is in the new paint scheme. |

Here's another Induction-Ultrasonic Car, this one I saw in Poplar Bluff, MO in February 2004 on the UP. This car is out of service due to behind hit in this end by a gondola while in Mexico. This car is in the older paint scheme and is named "Gary Langdon". This is ex-SAL 2003. 137 is also in the old paint scheme. |
