Description:  Coming into the yard was UP Train MNLPF 17 on St. Patrick's Day with a good snow coming down. It was 38 degrees. A couple days later the temperature was in the 70s.

Description:  It's Halloween but trains still roll, this one seen from the P.B. spot, led by two old workhorses, an SD40-2 and an SD40R. Both trains that I got photos of today were running elephant style.

Ex-SP
Title:  Ex-SP
Description:  This Ex-SP SD40 was part of Southern Pacific's GRIP (General Rehabilitation and Improvement Program) in the early '80s where this locomotive became an SD40R. It was one of the lucky 17 that survived the SP/UP merger and was never renumbered. It was sold to GECX in 2001 and the "Pacific" was removed, leaving only the "Southern" on the side of the unit, making it appear as something that it clearly isn't. There is a VERY small GECX marking above the road number.

Description:  The power has just cut off UP Train MNLPF 16 and is ready to go park on the wye as soon as they can get a signal onto the main so they can then back up into the outbound yard to get to the south leg of the wye track. It sure is nice to have so many SP Painted Units around here lately.
