Spring flooding in Poplar Bluff on the Black River at the UP Hoxie Sub. Bridge. This was right after the river crested at Poplar Bluff at 21.41 feet, its third highest crest ever, the highest being 22.15 on 3-20-08. The river was down to 20.85 feet when these pictures were taken. There were several levee breaks, flooding more land than the 2008 flood, even though the actual crest was lower. Several thousand people were affected or displaced in Butler County and Poplar Bluff. |
