Description:  Southbound MNA Train KCMNAZ 18 was getting underway headed towards Carthage after waiting for a northbound with two RailAmerica's RailTex Red Painted SD40-2's which were ex-MP and ex-SOO, and an ex-SP, nee-SSW SD45T-2 running third. Sure is great to have an ex-MP on an ex-MP Line. It's also nice to have these ex-Mo-Pac and ex-Cotton Belt Locomotives follow me. MNA 4081 was built as MP 3188 in March 1975 with a Builder Number of 74690-25. It became UP 4188 on 2-2-88, and was retired on 4-19-90. After that it was renumberd to GATX 2006 on 12-9-90, dynamic brakes installed by Conrail at Juniata Shops, Altoona, Pennsylvania, then became CP 5428 on 10-5-94, then to Helm Financial on 9-23-99, then finally to MNA 4081 during 10-99.

Description:  Two KCMNAZ's are combined at Rich Hill Siding, and the conductor watches as the slack is stretched while putting the two power consists together, then walking back to release handbrakes. On the right is MNA Train KCMNAZ 01, and the power from it is the lead two units. They are being coupled onto the KCMNAZ 29, and this crew will take them on into Carthage this evening.
