After dropping their passengers at Kansas City Union Station, the empty #311 heads to BNSF Crossing to wye the train so it can head back east towards St. Louis in a couple hours as #316. Sharp eyes will notice the train is sporting the Amtrak Full Dome “Ocean View”. We'll get a better shot of it later. |

Eastbound Amtrak Missouri River Runner Train #316 |
| Description: |
Headed through Wilson Road on the UP Sedalia Sub. is the River Runner headed for St. Louis with AMTK 10031, the Great Dome “Ocean View” on the rear end. It might be Amtrak, but that car looks sweet. I wish I'd gotten to ride it this week but didn't get the chance. This picture was featured in the June 2012 issue of Railroads Illustrated Magazine. |

Since the action was pretty bead on the east side of Kansas City (including a dead BNSF Transcon) we resorted to shooting Amtrak, since it was literally the only thing moving at this point. |
