Ex-B&O and CGW F-Units bask in the spotlight at Monticello. I was generally impressed with what NS did with them despite my unrelenting griping about them all day. They could have used a little more bondo, and ground off a couple more torch cuts, but they look better than they did with those square MARC pilots. They were fun to have on the Rail Cruise America Train out of St. Louis, but they've moved onto bigger things. |

OCS NS Train 952 sporting an A-B-B-A set of F-Units crosses the CN at ICG Crossing on the BNSF Beardstown Sub. before splitting back off onto the NS towards Princeton, IN. The train was headed from St. Louis, MO to Louisville, KY today. Until today, I'd seen 2 of the 4 engines on static dipplay. Seeing all of them MUed and running 60 MPH on their first trip down the Ex-Southern out of St. Louis was worth the trip. |
