| Description: |
CNW 8701, one of the last 2 CNW Units in existance sits on a track in Jenks Shops as viewed from the public balcony overlooking the shop floor where she's sat for about 2 weeks. The unit has been undergoing maintenance work since March 31, 2006 here in North Little Rock. At the time it was still unclear whether or not she will emerge as a CNW, a Patched CNW, or Fully Painted UP Unit. A few days later, she emerged with touched up CNW paint. |

| Description: |
Across a cotton patch the QNLCH 10 with one of the Last 2 CNW's heads north towards Chicago. It was about a quarter mile south of the North Dexter Crew Change Point. I hope the CNW's outlast this crop of cotton in this cotton field. There was a little bit of dust from a crew van in the photo. |

| Description: |
Rocketing out of Idalia after a crew change at North Dexter is CNW 8701, one of the Last 2 CNW's on the point of UP Train QNLCH 10, which left North Little Rock, AR the night before at 23:23. The 8701 had been in UP's Jenks Shops at North Little Rock, AR since 3-31-06 and spent over 2 months there for maintenance. At the time it was feared that this engine was being repainted or renumbered, when in actuality the engine was not modified from its CNW appearance, other than the shop forces TOUCHED UP the green along the hood and the yellow Scotchlite. I figured I'd post a couple of the other remaining CNW unit, since its sister, 8646 has been hanging around my general area for a while now. |

Here are the Final Two, CNW 8701 and 8646 and the look great. This is one of the best schemes worn by a Dash-9. I found them switching in UP Belvidere Yard coupled onto a cut of cars after they came in on UP Train ABEBE 02 at 06:19 this morning. I talked to the UP MYO on duty and asked for permission to take a few shots. I ended up with pictures and a Chicago Service Unit Cap. |

I figured this train was long gone, so I was glad to find out UP Train ASPCER 26 wasn't out of Dexter and I had a chance to see it. No telling how many more chances I will have. They will be around for quite a while longer, but certainly not forever. |
