Description:  "Flood Power" engine move, UP Train UP Train EJCKCB 21, rolls around the wye at Adams Street Interlocking on the KCT with 9 units: SP 187, FXE 4672, UP 4779, UP 9470, UP 5125, UP 6218, UP 4544, UP 2268, FXE 4609.

These units have spent the past few days between Kansas City and Jefferson City, MO as extra power on coal trains detouring over the UP Sedalia Sub. since the UP River Sub. is closed due to flooding. Here the engines are returning to UP 18th Street Yard in Kansas City, KS from Jeff City, where they are cut out of coal train consists, only to be sent back here to repeat the process.

Description:  I chased SP 303 Leading UP Train CMSEY9 06 from Poplar Bluff to here. You can see the engineer waving as he gave a couple friendly honks. The engine had alternating ditch lights. I was tickled to see a Big SP GE leading a coal train that does not frequent this line. There are now only 94 Unpatched SP's left. The train was 000 loads 106 empty, 02544 tons, and 05724 feet. The power was SP 303, UP 6874, and DPU UP 6286. It passed Ives at 13:28. This was renumbered to UP 6216 on 10-26-07.

Description:  From Three Mile Road at MP 145 the train stretches half way back to Dudley. You can see another train waiting behind this one in Dudley. They flashed their lights at us again as we were leaving, they said they would do the same if they saw us again. UP 6004 was the DPU. We went by Dexter B-B-Q for some ribs and then headed home with the goodies. As we were pulling into Dexter B-B-Q they were moving past One Mile Road, they tied the train down at MO Jct. and went off duty at 18:05.

Description:  Headed north at Stoddard County Road 637 was UP Train GEAMRB 08 with a fine looking GE AC4400CW SP 373 in the lead of two other UP AC's. Dad and I watched about 30 cars run the crossing gates while he was stopped. We became aware of the train and we hunted it down on our way back from Illinois.
