BNSF Rear End Collision and Derailment  Contributor's Pick!
Around 10:00 A.M. on 11-7-10 at MP 41.9 on the BNSF St. Joseph Sub. BNSF XRICCNB7 03 (empty ethanol train) led by BNSF 793 rear ended BNSF XGATNEN903 (empty grain train) which was shoving out of the siding at East Armour, MO apparently after running a red signal. The crew on the BNSF 793 put their train in emergency before plowing into the rear of the grain train. The crew had minor injuries and were treated at the scene and are very lucky. Check this picture of mine from last year for a comparison: http://uptrain.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1813656 .

Jim Satterwhite General It is difficult to keep War Bonnets around with this kind of activity. It looks like you had to sneak up on this one. Good shot. 11/28/2010 3:47:00 AM
