Description:  The train actually arrived at 10:24, the conductor called it in at 10:29 A.M., making it 7 hours and 20 minutes late. Here it is during the stop sitting on the curve in the earlier Amtrak Bluenose Scheme with the Phase V High Stripe.

Description:  And it looks like CSX in the backstretch, UP, goin' to the outside. The local leaves the yard and the only scheduled intermodal train for the day heads for the De Soto Sub. and a crew change at the Depot.

Description:  This was my first look at her leading UP Train IHOYC 20, from Houston, Texas to Yard Center, Illinois. This was it's first trip through here, the crew honked at me twice. Notice the engineer's side ditch light was out. They had just worked on it in Little Rock according Jim Haguewood, Site Contributor who works on the service tracks as he was cleaning the unit's cab. This was the unit's first run through here. I caught it at 23:37C.

Description:  Still has her maker lights! I was with a future hardcore railfan from the railroad museum, Parker Thurman, he's 10. Right before this shot, a cop came up and told us to back up...as you can see were plenty far back, so I moved back about 4 inches, just to make him happy, at least he left me alone in time to get this shot, dumb cop.

Description:  The unit was on UP Train ZYCHOB 22, a Yard Center, IL to Houston, TX Intermodal. About to pass under the MO Highway 25 Overpass, 1982 is slowing for the 20 MPH curve in town on the Old Cotton Belt. After this I went to sophomore year classes at Malden High School. Time flies.

Description:  We had tracked this one all night too, it was on train ZDUMQ 27, an intermodal from Dupo, Illinois to Mesquite, Texas. That thing is BEAUTIFUL!!! It is just north of the crew change point and about to change crews.

Description:  She was assigned on train ZDUMQ 27, an Intermodal Freight from Dupo, Illinois to Mesquite, Texas. UP has impressed me again. These Heritage Locomotives are nifty. At the time, this was as far south as the MKT "Katy" Locomotive had ever been.

Description:  The engineer said that the MP Unit had bad AC (Air Conditioner, not traction motors) and couldn't lead the consist. He also said he would have just assumed to be hot, just to be the one to drive it. He said I could get up on the MP, he'd act like he didn't see me.

Description:  Here are is the New AAR Control Stand in the Missouri Pacific Heritage Unit UP 1982. The Mo-Pac's air conditioner went out prior to departure from North Little Rock and had to be sent to the back of the consist, believe me, it was hot in that closed up, insulated cab!
